Syang’s won ₹500,000 in the competitive pitching event at IITK

Syangbo’s Living Food and Beverages Pvt Ltd which is in to the health focused beverages market has won ₹500,000 i.e. around 6,000 USD in the seed funding and the event is organized by the Agri Business Incubation Foundation (ABIF) at IIT Kharagpur(Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur) competition.

This funding will help the company to grow its market and bring authentic and raw unpasteurized kombucha, sparkling tea, and other healthy drinks in to the market. The company is focusing to power the tribals with its sourcing of the products from them directly and also keeping sustainability in to its mind. Around 80% people at Syang’s are from tribal communities and the company is aiming to keep its environmentally focused initiative including carbon consciousness, and fair trade practices to its mind.

The company has thanked IIT Kharagpur and ABIF panel for the provided opportunity and has said that this will help them in expanding their offerings and in continuing the innovation in the food and beverage industry with health conscious and natural products. The company is based in Darjeeling and this funding will motivate other companies in the North Eastern states of India to do more innovation and bring more innovative products to the market.
